Happy Camper

Here's a little card created using the new retro camper die from My Favorite Things. What a cute die! I absolutely adore it. The sentiment is from an MFT stamp set. Paper is the Travel Girl collection by October Afternoon. The ribbon is from Michaels.

A New Baby Boy Onesie Mini

I had the pleasure of creating another baby boy onesie mini album and gift box for a friend who is expecting.

This time, I used Echo Park's Bundle of Joy paper collection. It's an adorable collection! Love the colors, the patterns, the chipboards and stickers. It's all so stinkin' cute.

Here is the gift box for the mini. I used another plain white box from Michael's and dressed it up with a some patterned paper from the 6x6 pad from the collection. I decorated the top with a C (baby's initial) and a star that I cut out from my Silhouette Cameo. I recently purchased a Cameo (when I swore I would not buy another die cutting machine), but I got a great deal from HSN and 5 easy payments (lol), so I could not resist. I'm very pleased with the machine and used a few cuts for this project.

Baby Girl Cards

Just sharing a few cards to welcome a baby girl. I used a couple of different paper lines to create these cards including Authentique, Echo Park Bundle of Joy and Simple Stories Baby Steps. All the papers are adorable and it was so much fun to make these cards!!

Baby Boy Onesie Mini Album

Wow, I sure do know a lot of people who are expecting, so I've been working on baby projects like crazy. Today I'm sharing a box and onesie mini album I created for a coworker who is expecting a baby boy.

This is the box. It was a plain white box from Michael's. The dimensions are close to a 6 inch square. I covered the box with papers from a K&Co. collection for a baby boy that I also picked up at Michael's. Really cute collection. LOVE the colors. The chipboard on the top was also from Michael's.

Venice Collection - NEW - Now Available

Hi folks! Sorry it has been so long since I posted, but I needed to take a hiatus from crafting for personal reasons. Everything is back on track now and I'm looking forward to posting more regularly once again. :)

DT member Belinda Akers has created an amazing mini using the cuts and Prima's gorgeous Nature Garden collection. Oh my, can Belinda design a mini! A Haunting We Will Go Blog Hop

For my hop project, I created a Halloween door pocket using the Hanging Bag die from Sizzix, the spooktacular My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Halloween paper collection and fun flowers from I Am Roses. I cut the pocket from black chipboard and embellished it with chipboard pieces from the paper collection, a doily, lace and some tiny box pleated trim from Melissa Frances. I also used some Michaels goodies on my project including the little bat (isn't he cute?), bows from ribbon with a harlequin pattern and a spray with black feathers and orange glittered balls.

For the flowers, I used these selections from I Am Roses:

IAR September Challenge

Halloween is the BEST, and I had a super time making this Halloween card as part of the September Challenge being hosted by I Am Roses.

For my card, I created a circle easel card and went vintage using the cute paper line Happy Haunting by Graphic 45. I Am Roses has adorable fun flowers in new fall colors available on their web site now, and I was very excited to use several of them on my card.

Craft Studio Update

Work on my new craft studio is coming along. Trim has all been painted out white from a honey stain, shelving and storage grids have been hung, purging and organizing continue. I will be sooooooooo super excited to move into my new room this weekend. I'm working on flower storage, and this is what I came up with. I'm storing some of my lovely flowers and petals from I Am Roses using the Sterlite storage boxes for 12x12s along with a drawer organizer from The Container Store. Don't they look yummy?! I haven't worked with this solution yet, but I think I'm going to like pulling out the Sterlites and looking them over to select the flowers to use for each project. I went with a cream, white, pink, black color scheme for the first drawer, since that is a favorite color combination of mine. Now to decide the color combos for the other drawers....

Guest Room Makeover/Takeover

I have exciting news to announce. I am taking over/making over the guest bedroom into my arts & craft studio office. Yay!!!

My artsy area has been located in the basement the past few years, but I have so wanted two things — a space with natural light and the Bedford Project Table from Pottery Barn. I have both now.

I will be working on organizing and outfitting my new space this week and next. I'm in heaven. I love the table, and I like the opportunities and challenges of this new space. At 8.5' x 13', is much smaller than my basement space. So I need to make my new studio functional without overcrowding.

Back to School & a New IAR Challenge!

The design team members for I Am Roses, including myself, designed some projects to share with you for inspiration. I do not have kids but to make the challenge interesting, fun and personal for me, I joined a swap over at Your Paper Pantry hosted by Alease to create some vintage back-to-school postcards. I love creating postcards, so I am super excited to participate in Alease's swap.

For my postcards, I used the Graphic 45 ABC Primer collection and the gorgeous new vintage yellow toned daisies from IAR. I also have a burgundy red rose (1 inch), several super tiny yellow rose buds (they're so cute!) and mini hydrangea petals sprayed with red rocks and sunflower colored mists.

I hope the ladies who receive my cards enjoy them. I cannot wait to see the postcards I get in the swap. Swaps are so much fun!!! Yay!

Lost & Found Altered File Folder

Because I need even more places to shop for crafty supplies :) I was checking out Staples to see if they had anything interesting. I came across some multi-pocket manila file folders by Pendaflex, and thought they would be lots of fun to alter.

So I dipped into my Lost & Found 2 papers from My Minds Eye and altered away. I am super proud of myself for cutting them up and using them for this project. I had been hoarding them a little while -- well for about a year.

I also used a big gardenia and a mix of R4, R8 roses and rose buds from I Am Roses. A complete list of flowers I used in the project with links is below.

For the inside of the folder, I created a pocket on the left side using a scrap that was leftover from the cover sheet when I cut down the 12 x 12. I also used some dies from Accucut to create the library pocket and tags.

For the right side, I simply decorated the multi-tiered pockets that come with the folder.

I Am Roses July Challenge - YAY!

If you have a Tuesday Morning in your neck of the woods, then you may know they had some terrific deals on Graphic 45 paper recently. So I super stocked up and decided to use some of that paper for this project. It's a cover for a vintage beach-themed mini.

Super fun creating this. For the flowers I used:

I live in New Jersey and the Jersey Shore is just 40 minutes away so this will be a fun place to record memories of my special sunny fun-filled days down the Jersey Shore. My favorite shore town in Jersey is LBI, Long Beach Island, and it's a fun place to visit if you ever should get the chance. And guess what. The have the best CRAFT SHOWS! Lol. Some really terrific artists share their creations there, and you can see and pick up some cool stuff.

But one of the first pics going in the album is a photo of one of my fur babies enjoying the new kidde pool I purchased for my dog kiddos. Here it is:

Rock LOVES the kiddie pool. And I love the action shot of his enormous ears flapping. His breed is a Boxer, and they are fun, happy dogs.

And here's another one where he's chillaxin. :)

LOL. Summer is THE BEST. And I cannot wait to see everyone's submissions for the challenge. Altered Jewelry Box

 I knew when I saw this unfinished jewelry box that it would look terrific altered with some I Am Roses flowers and the Ladies Diary collection from Graphic 45. But what project wouldn’t look terrific with those two amazing brands?

           

When it came to designing the top of the box, I was inspired by the v-neck. I love v-necks with their plunging drama, so I wanted to create that feel on the box. Accenting the v-neck are a doily and some white lace inside. Around the v, I created a necklace effect using some findings, and pendant chain from Michael’s Bead Landing collection. To embellish the V further, I also used a curly roses, white rose with pink in the middle, some cream and black half-inch roses and pink rosebuds from I Am Roses. A complete list of flowers and links is below.

And then I did a lot of fussy cutting and layering. :)

On the front of the box, I used more v-drama to pull back the paper over an elegant image of ladies gloves, and I accented the gloves with pearls for buttons and a pearl for a ring.

Inside the box, I used more I Am Roses flowers to accent the compartments to make them an even prettier place for holding little gems, jewels and trinkets.

For accent pieces, I also altered an embroidery hoop and a small kraft journal for writing secret wishes and special memories, and embellished both with coordinating I Am Roses flowers that I used throughout the box.

This was an especially fun project! Loving the flowers and the paper collection, which are MFEO — for sure.
